By late 2011, Chris and Carissa had been trying to conceive their second child for some time without success. They met with Paul DiCicco, one of Lifesong’s elders at the time, and his wife, Jess, over lunch one Sunday after church. Paul and Jess were also trying to conceive at the time and encouraged Chris and Carissa with God’s promises concerning childbearing, including the fact that He doesn’t desire for any of His people to be barren (Exodus 23:26; Deuteronomy 7:14). After lunch, Paul and Jess prayed with Chris and Carissa in the parking lot and believed with them for the conception of their second child. Within a relatively short period of time, they announced that Carissa was pregnant, and, based on the timing, they believed the conception may have actually occurred the weekend that Paul and Jess prayed with them! On July 4, 2012 at 2:26 p.m., they gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Evangelina Kaye.
