Jesse and Melanie were married on November 26, 2005, but, by the time they began their journey at Lifesong in 2008, the novelty of their newly wed relationship had completely worn off. They were beginning to see each other for who they really were, and their emotional perspective of what love was had been strained by the realities of managing a business and raising a family. They were desperate for help and were hoping God would save them from the mess they were in, unaware His plan was already in place as they walked through the doors at Lifesong.
Through the counsel of the pastoral leadership, Jesse and Melanie began to understand God’s best for their marriage. Through their participation in the Living in Freedom Everyday small group, they began growing in relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding His deep longing for a personal relationship with them individually. When times were difficult and they felt hopeless, they reached out and their Lifesong community was there to embrace them, walk alongside them, and redirect their focus to what God’s best was for their lives. Because of this, Jesse and Melanie not only had their marriage restored but their lives transformed to become what God has called them to be. They have found a home where God is using changed lives to change lives, and they truly consider this church part of their lifesong.
