What is Baby Dedication?
Baby Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raising up their children in the ways of God. It is also a prayerful moment for the church to join their faith with parents and commit to helping them raise their children to love and serve the Lord.
“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” Proverbs 22:6 NLT
Baby Dedication is for infants and toddlers of parents who have committed to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are seeking to live lives that honor the Lord.
No, Baby Dedication is not the same as baptism. Baby Dedication is a chance for parents to link arms with the church to publicly declare that they’re going to do their best to raise their children in the ways of God and invite their community to come alongside them in that effort.
During Baby Dedication, one of our pastors will share some scripture and speak to the importance of parents raising children in the ways of God and the value of our church community partnering with parents in that. The pastor will then lead our church in a moment of prayer over the children and their parents.
Baby Dedication is intended for infants and toddlers up to age 3. However, if you have other kids, we definitely invite you to bring them on the platform while you dedicate your baby!
